Green vs. Yellow
I got a call yesterday from my partner in the 12th View Invitational that tees off today at Alta Vista Golf and Country Club asking if there was anything we needed to prepare.
I told him I’ll be preparing a lot of balls as the other day, I counted losing five during the other day’s fellowship tournament with officers from the Central Command.
My partner is one of the closest friends I made whacking at small balls and hoping they’d follow the direction we hope they would head to.
Although we have no dreams of bringing home the trophies, I’m sure that my partner, Michael Go, will excel in one department – dressing up for play like they do in the golf clubs in Manila where he now spends most his time.
I’d also like to welcome all the guests playing in the event including a large group from Malaysia and Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club.

Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao, now also referred to as congressman-elect Manny Pacquiao of Sarangani, said that he would like to prove his critics wrong when he starts his work in the House of Representatives.
Although I have been very critical of his deciding to try politics, I wish him well as congressman and hope that he can deliver what his constituents are expecting, which is the reason why they gave him a landslide victory.
This is not the first time that we have sports stars becoming politicians. In fact, two former stars of the Philippine Basketball Association became members of the Senate – Robert Jaworski and Freddie Webb.
Although he hasn’t really gone into specifics, Pacquiao has been saying that he wants to help his constituents, but I am interested to know how he’d do it.
I wish the boxing champ and very soon neophyte congressman all the best in this new field that he thrust himself into.

If there is one thing that I don’t want to be bothered with in the next few days during the View Invitational, that is getting text messages of rumors that the polls were rigged and that some people claiming to be in on the scheme are now talking.
While I am as sad that that my candidate for president did not make it (he has conceded to his cousin), I feel very bad about the spreading of unverified information that could cause chaos.
I hope that we will all be responsible enough for our actions.
If there is one green versus yellow battle that I’d like to see, I guess it will be the NBA Finals, which could feature the Boston Celtics (now 2-0 against the Orlando Magic) and the Los Angeles Lakers (now 1-0 vs. the Phoenix Suns).
I don’t have to tell you which side I’ll be rooting for, but obviously I’ll go for the team whose uniform was the same color as the baller band that I wore throughout the campaign period.
