CEBU, Philippines - Cebu-based Kenyan missionary Simon Losiaboi emerged as the fastest in the combined men and women’s open division of the 2010 Rundaue at Parkmall grounds yesterday.
Losiaboi clocked in 36 minutes and four seconds folowed by Philip Duenas with the time of 37:57 and Riez Enriquez in 38:07.
The next three sports were occupied by Jess Gonzaga (38:13), Noel Tillar (41:22) and Alverz Busa (41:23).
Mary Grace de los Santos was the only female runner to make it to the top 10 cast, placing seventh with the time of 42:56.
De los Santos’ long-time coach, Sherwin Manaquil, trailed her in 43:27, while Leo Abello landed ninth in 43:27. Roger Saldo snatched the 10th spot in 45:03.
Mendel Lopez topped the 5K category with a 20:06 clocking. Joel Delposo settled for second in 20:53, while Joel Montebon came in third in 21:44.
In the 3K event, Jorry Ycong bagged the first place honors with the time of 11:11. Michael Estrera finished second in 11:17 followed by Ian Bernido in 11:28. – THE FREEMAN
