CEBU, Philippines - Cebu's tennis princess Sally Mae Siso easily advanced into the girls 18-under finals of the 1st Palawan Pawnshop Express Padala National Junior Tennis Circuit-Cebu leg at the Cebu Country Club yesterday.
Siso clobbered Kristel Mae Buenacosa, 6-2, 6-1 to set up a championship duel with Elma Dasian, who marched forward after winning by default over Claire Lazaga who was a no show in their semifinal game.
Siso and Dasian are on collision course for a twin title showdown if they prevail in their respective semifinal assignments in the girls 16-under category.
On the other hand, Alexie Santos, Zeth Mae Alferez, Christopher Encarnacion and Joshua Kinaadman proceeded into the final round of their respective classes.
Alexie Santos crushed Rey Dante Toledo, 6-0, 6-1 to book a gold medal battle against Alferez in the unisex 10-under.
Alferez silenced Kara Salimbangon, 6-1, 6-0 to earn the right to face Kinaadman in the boys 12-under finale.
Encarnacion slammed Godfrey Seno, 6-2, 6-0, while Kinaadman overpowered Mark Go via a lopsided 6-2, 6-1 decision. – THE FREEMAN
