CEBU, Philippines - Learning some valuable lessons out of their first game, Sta.Rita squad posted a lop-sided 15-0 win against the University of San Carlos-North in their encounter under the players’17 category of the Cebu Amateur Football Club’s 10th National Inter-Club Football Tournament at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center field in Talamban yesterday.
Sta. Rita, composed of players from San Carlos City, opened their bid with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu.
Not wanting to experience the same scenario, Sta. Rita grabbed all opportunities to score against USC-North that resulted to a one-sided match.
With the back-to-back victories, Sta. Rita is confident of moving up to the next round tomorrow.
In the men’s open action, Queen City United and FC-Inter Cebu ended with a 1-all draw while the University of San Jose-Recoletos dumped Consolacion, 8-0.
FCIC though was able to bounce back right away as it managed to grab a 4-2 victory over USC yesterday.
Former Abellana National School standout now playing for USC time, Prince Anthony tried everything he could for his new team, but could only do as much as two goals on a losing cause.
FCIC outsmarted USC with Richard Romero scoring on the 34th minutes and followed by back-to-back goals of Janno Flores on the 49th and 54th while Toto Gempisao sealed its victory with another goal on the 62nd minute. (FREEMAN NEWS)
