CEBU, Philippines - A Kenneth Cobonpue limited edition artwork and other products of some of Sacred Heart School for Boys Batch 1985 alumni will be up for grabs during the 1st Eagle Run on May 23 at the Cebu Doctors’ University campus in Mandaue City reclamation area.
Cobonpue himself announced during yesterday’s press conference at Dessert Factory at the Ayala Terraces that he will be giving away a limited edition artwork that will be raffled off for the participants of the race.
The likes of Dr. Yong Larrazabal III, Dessert Factory’s Kenneth Lim, Edmund Liu, Albert Go, Barney Borja, Alvin Yu, Arnold Choachuy, Giovannie Young and Francis Tan will also be giving away additional prizes.
On top of it, the winners of the said running competition will receive cash prizes and medals, while the top 10 SHS-B alumni will get a medal each.
As silver jubilarians of the year, SHS-B Batch ’85 composed of successful businessmen and professionals here have lined up several events towards their grand homecoming in December starting off with the running event.
“To jumpstart the event, we chose the most popular sport now. Hopefully this will become an annual event which our batch will help out organize,” Larrazabal said.
After the Eagle Run, a golf tournament will also take place.
More to just being a fun event and a way to gather the alumni of Sacred Heart School now SHS-Ateneo de Cebu, the activity is a run-for-a-cause.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Run For Sight Foundation and other charitable institutions. The rest for the benefit of their former teachers and scholarship programs for their children.
“We have a lot to be thankful for. Our focus right now is inward, and that is why we’d love to help those closest to us.The people who helped us mold the way we are now. It’s time to give back something to the society, to our teachers,” Edmund Liu said on behalf of his batchmates.
The race is open to everyone. Registration begins today at Dessert Factory in Ayala or at the Center for Sight of Cebu Doctors’ Hospital.
Entry fee is pegged at P250 for early birds and P300 for late registrants.
