USC dumps Consolacion FC

CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Carlos (USC) bounced back from an opening day setback in style, hacking out an 8-0 whitewash of Consolacion FC in men's open division of the Cebu Amateur Football Club (CAFC)-organized 10th National Inter Club Football Cup at the USC-Technology Center field in Brgy. Talamban, this city.

The game turned out very rough and highly physical, with four players from Consolacion FC getting yellow cards while one was sent off for a hard tackle.

In the other men's open battle, Doraemon fought to a 1-all draw with Queen City United.

At the 11th, Romel Cuizon was able to sneak through the tight defense of Doraemon and broke the ice match courtesy of a straight pass from Joe Sacil.

Doraemon's equalizing goal came from Joshua Fegidero's goal from a corner kick by Rocky Garciano with just a minute left to play.

In the players 12 category, host Paref-Springdale edge out M. Lhuillier by the narrowest of margins, 3-2.
