Paref-Springdale, ANS triumph in Inter-Club football

MANILA, Philippines - The young booters supported by M. Lhuillier together with the Palarong Pambansa silver medalists Paref-Springdale and Abellana National School-Pomeroy were the first three teams to log wins in the 10th National Inter-Club Football Tournament even as the event could formally open this afternoon yet at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center.

Paref-Springdale, the Palarong Pambansa runner-up, dumped the USC-North squad, 9-0, in the boys 17-under class at the USC field.

Springdale aims for a back-to-back victories when they face Sacred Heart School-Jesuits tomorrow.

Defending boys 17-under champion ANS-Pomeroy gave some neat lessons to Blessed John, 4–1.

Dandan Villarico was oozing hot, logging three of the four goals made by ANS through the 13th, 49th and 77th, while the other goal was made by John Ray Nieves at the 62nd.

In the players 10 action, M.Lhuillier showed no intimidation, defeating Springdale at the latter’s own turf, 8-0.

M. Lhuillier got its goals from Archie Gemina and Kenneth Domingo scoring 3 goals each and Julbert Arias adding two for a very convincing win. —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (FREEMAN)
