CEBU, Philippines - Jovi Neri fired even-par 72 strokes to bag the lowest gross honors in the March Monthly Medal of Cebu Country Club.
The spotlight of the tournament was however on Kiyofumi Takahashi, who aced the par-3 hole number 15 using a Titleist Pro-V1 ball and a number 7 King Cobra Forged CB iron.
The ace was witnessed by his flightmates Marko Sarmiento, Wayne Congmon and Shotaro Suda.
The class A title went to many-times club champion Montito Garcia with a net score of 68 off a gross 73. Runner-up honors went to Clifford Celdran, who also made 68, but lost in the countback.
Manuel Dy, Jr. topped class B with a net score of 65 strokes. Mario King was the runner-up for the category with a net score of 66 strokes.
Rhoudie Tiu won the class C plum with a net 69 edging Marcelo Tan, who settled for the runner-up honors, in the countback.
Rolly Tan won class D with a net score of 66 while Henry Gocuan was the runner-up with a net score of 69 after pulling past Tony Baltazar in the countback.
The seniors’ division title went to Bugs Unchuan with a net score of 65 strokes while Joseph Yukayguan finished as runner-up with his net of 66.
Hospicio ‘Razy’ Razon topped the guest division with a net scored of 74 strokes pulling past runner-up Ted Almario in the countback.—NLQ (THE FREEMAN)
