Cebu to host Visayas leg of PIA Run

CEBU, Philippines - The Visayas leg of the Pinay In Action running event will take place on April 11 at the Asiatown IT Park grounds.

The race features the 3K, 5K and the premiere 10 category, with re-electionist Senator Pia Cayetano leading the charge.

Although it is named Pinay In Action, male runners are also invited in to join provided that they will bring along with them a special woman in their lives.

Pinay In Action was created primarily to uplift the lives of the Filipina. It is aimed at empowering women in the country by providing them venues for a healthier lifestyle and tools and information for a better future.

The group’s main activities include all-women sports events, fitness clinics, inspirational talks and seminars on women’s health, anti-violence against women and breastfeeding.

The Cebu leg of the nationwide undertaking will be directed by Run Check, with Annie Neric and Kenneth Casquejo serving as race directors.

Registration fee is pegged at P250 inclusive of a race number, souvenir t-shirt, route map and a bagful of goodies. Entry forms are available at Leona’s Cakes and Pastries-Mabolo branch.
