Pajo XI grabs lead in Denker League footballfest

CEBU, Philippines - Pajo scored a 2-0 win over the combined forces of Bankal and Abuno to snatch the lead in the men’s open division of the Denker League 2010 football tournament in Lapu-Lapu City.

Pajo, which also pulled a 7-0 whitewash of Metropolitan Lapu-Lapu, now stands with nine points and 8-4 record in goals followed by FC Looc with seven points after fighting to a 2-all draw with Metropolitan.

Early front-runner Vudu slipped to third place with six points and 10-0 goals followed by Bankal-Abuno with four points and 6-13 goals. Olango occupied the fifth spot with one point and 3-4 goals, while Metropolitan is mired at the cellar with one point and 2-14 goals.

In the 14-under category, Abellana Football Club whipped MABES, 10-0, in the boys bracket, while its girls counterparts also has a similar 13-0 thrashing over the same rivals. MABES Boys later posted a 3-0 victory over Olango.
