-

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s decorated pedal-pusher Niño Surban defeated a bunch of local mountainbikers to reign supreme in the open expert class of the 1st Mayor’s Cup mountainbike competition in Carmen.

Surban outpaced Earl Cadampog for the top spot, while Albert Basirgo came out third followed by Adonis Bohol and Barry Ragasajo.

Randy Carbonera, who opted to compete in the junior-senior class, showed he made the right decision as he took the first place honors. Rolly Cabaluna wound up second as Delfin Delfin settled for third.

Randy’s brother, Roy Carbonera, emerged the fastest in the beginners-executive class. Brian Lozano placed second followed by Michael John Pilapil.

The veterans-masters class, on the other hand, saw Magne Klavestud clinching the title as Nilo Basbalose and Ramon Espinosa occupied the next two spots.

The top three finishers in the combined fat boys and golden boys division were Roman Suplig, Jhun Geraldez and Roel Hinayas. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (FREEMAN NEWS)
