CEBU, Philippines - The Los Amigos Basketball Association (LABA) upended title-favorite Power Forty in convincing fashion, 92-80, in the Cebu Golden Basketball League (CGBL) at the Inayawan Sports complex.
Earlier, the Danao Ruby Star Basketball Association (DARUSBA) defeated the Minglanilla Basketball Association (MIBA), 97-88, to improve its win-loss record to 2-3 in a tie with Better Run Basketball Association (BRBA).
Dodoy Rizane and Ansing Companion carried LABA's offensive load with 49 points combined. They were ably backed up by Marlon Pangan and former UV Lancer Butong Unabia with 16 and 13 markers, respectively.
On the other hand, Rowen Capoy led DARUSBA with 23 points even as Ricky Manulat added 17 points. Team leader Joel Castañeda, Rudy Capoy and Dennis Batac all finished with 15 markers to make their presence felt for the Danao City-based squad.
