CEBU, Philippines - Former UV Lancer Toto Fuentes scored 19 points, even as three of his teammates also churned out double figures as the Minglanilla Basketball Association (MIBA) pulled off a spine-chilling 85-84 victory over the Mandaue City-based Los Amigos Basketball Association (LABA) in the Cebu Golden Basketball League (CGBL) at the Inayawan Sports Complex.
MIBA, thus, snatched the solo second place with an improved 3-1 win-loss record, relegating LABA to third with an even 2-2. Power Forty stayed on top of the heap without loss in four starts, so far.
Romy Vasquez and Titing de la Torre each fired 17 points, while Balbino Cañada banged in 12 markers for MIBA.

In the opener, the Better Run Basketball Association (BRBA) defeated the Danao Ruby Star Basketball Association (DARUSBA), 113-100, to better its win-loss mark to 2-3.
Ex-USPF Panther Dodong Espinosa paced Better Run with 29 points followed by Dodong Lopez and Jun Ledesma with 19 and 14 points, respectively.
