CEBU, Philippines - Multi-awarded trackster Mary Grace de los Santos and Kenyan missionary Simon Losiaboi reigned supreme in their respective divisions during the Kasadya Run 2010 last Sunday starting and ending PLDT-Smart office along Osmeña Boulevard, this city.
De los Santos proved too much for her opponents as he clocked in 38 minutes and 32 seconds to clinch the women’s 10K title.
Mary Joy Tabal occupied the second spot in 40 minutes and seven seconds, while Joeyry Lee came in third with the time of 42 minutes and 40 seconds.
Like De los Santos, Losiaboi was unstoppable in the men’s division, crossing the finish line in 31 minutes and 20 seconds.
In the men’s division, Losiaboi, who has been a consistent road race winner swept the top spot with a menacing time of 31 minutes and 20 seconds.
Elmer Bartolo settled for the second place in 32:38 followed by Ian Bernido with the time of 32:44 minutes.
In the 10K executive class, Brandon Bon came out the fastest with the time of 39:47. Arnold Duarez and Manolito Yu copped the next two spots with the time of 42:16 and 44:30, respectively.
In the distaff side, Melinda Ponce took the first place honors with the time of 52:38 followed by Marivic Yu (57:19) and Humility Egaña (1:02:13).
In the 5K MEPZ men’s division, Robert Da-ang snatched the title with a 16:20 clocking. Rogelio Estora wound up second in 17:57 while Mario Orlik finished third in 18:04.
Emily Rosas of Lexmark ruled the women’s bracket with the time of 23:07. Mary Imee Aranatado placed second in 27:50 followed by Tarra Tecarro in 28:47.
Prince Joey Lee stole part of the limelight by lording it over in the 3K boys category. He finished the race in 10 minutes and 45 seconds. Lay Joseph Ybañez landed at second in 10:58 followed by Marlou Beboso in 11:30.
The top three finishers in the girls class were Jean Andrin (12:04), Lovely Andrin (12:14) and Mary Jamaica (12:45).
The Philippine National Police (PNP)– Regional Training School VII bagged the biggest delegation award of the event organized by the Sugbu Road Runners Club (SRRC). (FREEMAN NEWS)
