All set for Mano Amon footrace P86T in cash prizes up
CEBU, Philippines - The organizers of the 29th Halad Kang Mano Amon Run dangles close to P86,000 in cash prizes for the top performers of the longest running event in southern Philippines set tomorrow starting and ending at the Danao City Hall.
Staged in honor of Danao’s grand old man Ramon Durano, Sr., the race features three lengths - 10K, 5K and 3K.
The categories to be contested are the men and women’s open, all-Danao open, executive, 20-39, 40-49, 50 and above, elementary, secondary and college for both boys and girls division.
The open division champion will get P3,000, while the second and third will pocket P2,000 and P1,000, respectively. The fourth to 10th will each receive a consolation prize of P500.
The top three finishers in the other divisions except for the executive class will get P500, P300, and P200, while the fourth to 10th will get P100 apiece.
The biggest delegation and best in uniform will receive P1,000, while the second and third will get P600 and P300.
There will also be a souvenir shirt for the top 10 runners in each class, while top 10 in Cebu and Danao executives will be awarded with medals.
As an added Christmas treat for the participants, the city government of Danao through its sports commission led by councilor Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, Jr. is waving the registration free on top of providing free snacks for the first 200 registrants.
Other than that, there will be a free transportation for entries outside of Danao City. Assembly area is at the Cebu City Sports Center at 5 am. (FREEMAN NEWS)
