Part of SRP to be closed during CCM

CEBU, Philippines - Portion of the South Road Properties (SRP) will be closed during the highly-anticipated Cebu City Marathon, Cebu’s biggest and grandest running event in recent memory set on January 10, 2010.

City Councilor Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem said that the city government will be publishing an ad regarding the road closure and other important details of the Summit Natural Drinking Water and Globe-presented event.

Aside from that, there will be signage that will be posted along the roads ahead of time to inform the motorists and the general public regarding the closure, which has been agreed by the CITOM and the organizing Cebu Executive Runners Club.

Jakosalem added that more traffic enforcers will be deployed in the route to ensure the safety of the runners as well as the smooth flow of traffic.

Meanwhile, those who are interested to join the race have only until December 31 to register at the Active Zone of Ayala Center-Cebu and or at the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)-7 office located inside the Cebu City Sports Center.

For those who have already registered, race packets can be claimed on January 6 to 8.

On January 6 to 9, there will be a marathon expo where athletes can buy some items on a discounted rate.
