Alta Vista Christmas golfest on December 11 to 13
CEBU, Philippines - With only a few more slots remaining, it is all systems go for the Alta Vista Christmas Fun Golf Classic, which tees off on December 11 to 13 at the club’s fairways on the hills of Pardo, this city.
As of yesterday morning, about 170 players have signed up for the three-day, 36-hole event, which is open exclusively to members of the club and guests of sponsors.
Entry fee is pegged at P2,500 and already includes the mulligan, which will be given to charity. Each player will be allowed an extra stroke per nine holes.
Players will be allowed to choose which days they would like to play, but priority will be given to those who will register early.
The committee headed by Vicente ‘Inting’ Go met for the last time yesterday morning to finalize the details of the event.
The awards ceremony will be held on December 13 at 6 p.m.
Confirmed hole-in-one prizes are a Kia Picanto from Gateway Motors (Kia) Cebu, a Yamaha motorcycle from Norkis Trading, a Yamaha golf cart from GMAX, and first bet coupons from Casino Filipino Cebu and Mactan.
Other confirmed sponsors of the tournament are Taiyo Yuden (Phils.) Inc., APP, Andorra Tiles, Carlos A. Gothong Lines, Cebu Mitsumi Inc., Cebu Continental Printers, and Federal Phoenix Insurance Corporation.
Also supporting the tournament are Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Worldwide Steel Corp., Ang Chiong, Cebu Bionic Builders, ESRQ, Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, Profood Int’l Corp., and Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

This year, the tournament will be played for three days, but players will play only two rounds within that period.
The strokeplay system will be used and there will be prizes for the top finishers based on net scores for the different handicap categories as well as the seniors and the ladies divisions. The ladies division will however only be opened if there are at least ten participants.
