MS Motosuit motocross series Adlawan shines anew with Carcar leg crown
CEBU, Philippines - The promising Jon-Jon Adlawan once again shone brightly to snatch back-to-back titles via the 16th leg of the 2009 MS Motosuit Motocross Series dubbed as the “Mayor Patrick Barcenas Cup” last Sunday in Carcar.
Under the backdrop of a delighted throng of spectators, Adlawan zoomed his way to championship glory in the premiere expert class. He outsmarted his teammate Jubenile Abellar, while another strong contender Irwin Uypitching could only make it to third place.
Adlawan was actually preparing for a grand showdown with the decorated Glenn Aguilar and other Manila-based riders but unfortunately they failed to show up due to varied reasons.
As a result, the Power Sports Racing mainstay Adlawan went proved too much for his opponents to handle.
After missing the expert crown, Jubenile Abellar bounced back with finesse and vented his ire on another talented young gun in John Flores to lord it over in the intermediate class. Flores landed at a decent second place followed by Weng Yapparcon.
Another PSR rider in Andrew Canlas outclassed Dongkey Sanchez to reign supreme in the novice open production, while Flores took the third place honors.
Reigning “Rider of the Year” Seigfred Ornopia of Keiz BJ Racing Team placed himself anew under the glitzy spotlight with a double victory in the beginners open production and the executive A categories.
Ornopia’s eldest son Brylle joined his multi-titled father on the podium as he stayed undefeated in the mini open class. This time around, Brylle edged out his brother Ken Kerry for the top spot, while Tomtom Largosa placed third.
Weng Yapparcon’s daughter Marianne, however, prevented a complete domination by the Ornopias as she snatched the peewee class crown over Keizer and Ken Kerry, who occupied the second and third spots, respectively.
Donkey Sanchez, who fumbled in the novice open production, stole part of the show by topping the local enduro contest. Nikko Redulla was second followed by the little-known Edelberg Rebusora.
Bonnie Bustillo emerged as the best in the novice open enduro followed by Ryan Querol and Ayen Ledesma.
Joy Jocson and Butch Flores joined the winners’ circle as they dominated the executive B and C in this Castrol Philippines and SEL-J Sports-supported race. (FREEMAN NEWS)
