All-Cebu finale looms in Pintaflores football tourney

CEBU, Philippines - An all-Cebu finals looms between the Abellana National School (ANS)-Pomeroy and Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) in the 2009 Pintaflores National Invitational Football Tournament in San Carlos City.

DBTC of coach Glenn Ramos proceeded into the semifinals after sweeping its three elimination round assignments. The Bosconians defeated the undermanned RP training pool squad via penalty shootout, 3-1, and that capped its campaign with a 1-0 win over Iloilo.

Likewise, ANS posted a clean 3-0 record to march into the penultimate phase of the five-day tournament.

ANS of coach Francis Ramirez and Danny Ramos broke the hearts of host San Carlos City after John Nieves scored a direct kick in the final minute of the game to prevent a shootout.
