Ms Motosuit motocross series: Adlawan shines brightly in 13th leg

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - Promising Cebuano rider Jon-Jon Adlawan shot back on top once again after reigning supreme in the 13th leg of the 2009 MS Motosuit Motocross Series billed as the "Enan Mendiola Chiong Memorial Motocross Competition" over the weekend in Naga, Cebu.

Adlawan, who missed the title during the previous leg staged in Daanbantayan, outpaced the well-known Abellar siblings Jubenile and Juvanni to bag the premiere expert open crown in the Catrol Power 1-presented event.

Even if Adlawan and the Abellars are teammates under the wings of PowerSports Racing, they don’t give in to each other. Instead, they locked themselves up in an intense battle for speed, maneuvering skills and mental toughness.

This time, it was Jubenile Abellar who gave Adlawan the toughest challenge until he figured in a mechanical trouble that gave the latter an easier way up.

Jubenile stilled managed to finish second though followed by Juvanni.

Jubenile, however, did not go home empty-handed as he copped the intermediate title after edging out crowd-darling John Flores and Rex Barbaso, who settled for second and third, respectively.

Dongkey Sanchez also had a grand day after romping off with two championship trophies via the local enduro and beginner’s open production. He also had a runner-up finish in the novice enduro won by Ayen Ledesma.

Sanchez defeated Ray Querol in the local enduro while Boni Bustillo landed third. He outsmarted Ledesma and Andrew Canlas in the beginner’s open production.

Reigning 'Rider of the Year' Seigfred Ornopia and his sons also stole part of the show. Seigfred clinched the executive A title over event organizer Nonoy Reluya and Gener Sicad.

Ornopia’s sons Brylle and Keizer posted a a 1-3 finish in the mini class, with Vinz Batulan taking the second place honors, while Ken dominated the peewee class over Jose Karl Enriquez.

In executive B, Sicad emerged as the fastest entry followed by Jet Oliveros and Reluya, while lawyers Allan Ranillo and Flint Concha came out first and second in the executive C as Jetjet Oliveros wound up third.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
