CEBU, Philippines - Hundreds of runners are expected to show up in the Pink October Run this Sunday at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
The organizers of the event hope that those who have sent feelers earlier will push through with their participation as it is also a breast cancer awareness activity.
For that matter, a lay forum on breast cancer awareness will be done after the race.
“We hope to increase awareness of the public with regards to the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. We also believe that running is one of the best forms of promoting a healthy lifestyle, “said Fun Run Chairman Dr. Peter Mancao.
The race features three race lengths - 10K, 5K and 3K.
The one-day affair is jointly organized by the Philippine College of Surgeons Cebu - Eastern Visayas Chapter, Ayala Center Cebu, I Can Serve Group and Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente. The technical support will be provided by Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (S.A.F.E.) and the Run for Sight Foundation of Dr. Yong Larrazabal.
