USPF, USJ-R hope to sustain hot streak in CESAFI volleyball
CEBU, Philippines - Defending champions University of Southern Philippines Foundation and the University of San Jose-Recoletos hope to sustain their momentum as action in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) volleyball competition resumes today at the USPF gym.
The Jordan Paca-mentored USPF belles shoot for their fourth straight victory when they take on the University of Cebu (UC) at 1 pm.
As usual, USPF will count on its deadly one-two punch in reigning Nestea Beach Volley national champion Ericka Camille Verano and Apple Eve Saraum.
Likewise, the University of San Carlos (USC) gun for its win. No. 4 when it clashes with the University of the Visayas (UV).
USC of neophyte coach Roderick Arenasa will rely on the power plays of Methosheena Bate, Elmargie Montejo and Jerymie Montalvo.
In the men’s bracket, the USJ-R spikers of Cebu Sports Hall of Famer coach Grace Antigua aims to sustain their unbeaten streak when they tackle the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) in the first game at 8 am.
The Josenians will be spearheaded by Nestea Beach Volley titleholders Ariel Carumba and Loujei Tipgos alongside Ken Abunda, Jesriel Pino and Jacky Yrog-irog.
USC hopes to bounce back from its heart-breaking loss to UV via five-set thriller when it squares off against the University of Cebu (UC) in the third match of their day.
