CEBU, Philippines - The well-rested University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will now poke their guns to the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors as they bid to move closer to a rare elimination round sweep today in the 9th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) basketball season at the Cebu Coliseum.

In the high school division, it will be separation time for the defending champion UC Junior Webmasters and their finals adversary last year, the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers.
There are plenty of things the Webmasters have to reconsider against the audacious Warriors, who are riding on the crest of their back-to-back victories.
While the war at the post is already given to the Webmasters owing to their 6-foot-9 beanpole in June Mar Fajardo, the area of concern is the outside shooting that neither team should not take for granted.
The odds are almost even when it comes to field goal sniping as the Webmasters could rely on Moncrief Rogado and Giovanni Padillo.
Adding boost to the Webmasters' morale is Arvin Kim Gomez who is slowly turning himself into a lethal weapon in the offensive arsenal of his father-coach's team. The other UC reliables to watch out for are rookie Mark Tano, Janssen Abella, Robinson Mohammad and Kevin Quilantang.
The Webmasters are the current league-leader without defeat in five games, so far.
The Warriors, on the other hand, could benefit from Michael Cantonao, Gene Noel Gallarde, Mark Gil Panerio and Sam Hermosa. The Carolinians may be relatively smaller but they have a deeper bench to explore.
In the other collegiate tussle, the UV Green Lancers shoot for a tie at the second place with the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars when they collide with the weaker but gritty Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) Greywolves.
In the opener, the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildkittens will slug it out with the DBTC Junior Greywolves. - THE FREEMAN
