Qualfon, Western Wats gain quarters slots

CEBU, Philippines - Qualfon and Western Wats scored contrasting victories to secure quarterfinal seats in the 5th Inter-BPO Basketball Championship at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Qualfon Knights outlasted Cebu Global 74-68 while Western Wats hardly broke a sweat in routing ICT Group 77-44.

Jopher Regidor and Billy Rey Requillo scored 13 points apiece for Qualfon that survived Cebu Global's late-game assault to escape with a victory.

Michael Adam Pagdalian, meanwhile, starred for Cebu Global with 22 points.

Dennis Poquita led the way for Western Wats with 22 points. His other teammates Ariel Silagan scored 16 points while Rhett Tomakin netted 14 points.

Ellery George Ariate and Arck Lloyd Egot paced ICT with 13 and points, respectively.
