MMA, kickboxing and shooting events this weekend in Carmen

CEBU, Philippines - Fight fans in the municipality of Carmen will be treated to one night of exciting Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and kickboxing showdown tomorrow at the Carmen Sports Complex.

The officials of the organizing Extreme Combat Sports Mixed Martial Arts bared that this is the first time in Cebu that they will be utilizing the Octagon Cage as fighting ground.

In the main event of the MMA action, Neil Dungog of Komjyokai will clash with Joven Gonzaga of Gaf-Mixed.

The rest of the MMA matches pit Ramuez Colina of Island Grappler against Jason Tan of C-Mac Bullet, Eduard Mantesa of Komuyokai versus Jover Gonzaga of Gaf-Mixed, Pablo Santillan of Durex Dragon against Eluterio Tapdasan of Gaf-Mixed and Junrex Soquite of Durex Dragon against Aniceto Gesta, Jr. of C-Mac.

In the equally-explosive kickboxing show, Demetrio de la Torre of C-Mac Main will trade power kicks and fistic bombs with Johnjer Torbiso of Durex Dragon, while John Kenan Villaflor of Muay Thai Cebu will lock horns with Armin Guardiano of C-Mac Bullet.

The slambang spectacle is backstopped by Carmen Mayor Sonia Q. Pua and events coordinator Bambi Pua.

Meanwhile, the first ever Mayor Sonia Pua Cup and PNP Gun Proficiency will take place this weekend at the St. Augustine Firing Range. The shootfest will start at 8 am and will end at 5 pm.

Among those expected to grace the affair are Regional Fisheries and Training Center director and St. Agustine Gun Club president Eduardo A. Suderio and Carmen police chief Insp. Carlos Reyes.

The awarding ceremony will be held on Sunday at the Carmen Activity Center. Mayor Sonia Pua will be on hand to award the prizes and medals to the top performers.
