Green rules SFAA hoopla

CEBU, Philippines - The Nestor Kyamko-led Green K2S humbled league leader Yellow-Master Drug, 100-88, to win the title of the Still Fighting Athletic Association (SFAA) Inter-Color basketball tournament at the CEC open court.

Earlier, Team Black defeated White-Sunpride Sunny Hotdog, 80-73, to settle for third place honors.

Green got off to a hot 29-20 start behind the hot hands of Ricky Misa and Jun Seno. Yellow pulled within, 40-43, but Ric Dayondon provided the spark as Green restored a 74-64 advantage at the end of the third period.

Misa, who copped the coveted MVP trophy, spearheaded Green with 32 points followed by Seno with 27 and Dayondon with 15.

Michael Sumayang charted a tournament-record and career-high 50 points for Yellow, while Fred Espina and Teloy Abanes had 10 points apiece. - GGM (THE FREEMAN)
