Echo, Kia, Pier One pace SHABA

CEBU, Philippines - Echo Appliance, Kia Motors and Pier One shared the top spot with 2-0 slates in the 14th Sacred Heart Alumni Basketball Association (SHABA) season at the old Sacred Heart School-Jesuit campus along Gen. Maxilom Avenue, this city.

On the other hand, Ian Roma sank a booming triple in the closing seconds of the contest to lift Kia Motors to a nerve-wracking 56-53 win over Gaisano Capital. Kia Motors notched its first win through a 77-43 demolition of Progressive Automart,77-43.

In the other games, the Wildcats 2008 outsmarted Mt.Zion-Villa Shipping Lines, 47-38, Gold triumphed over Savers Home Depot/Transrover Transport, 54-44, Dynacast edged out New US Remnants 2005, 48-38, while Savers Home Depot-Transrover spilled Island Paints/ HCG, 51-37. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
