With more people becoming fitness buffs, you can’t help but sometimes feel like you’re just a tad overweight when you see them with their muscle shirts on or for the women when they show off their abs while wearing those little shirts.
Being fit used to be only for the athletes and those who would like to join bodybuilding competitions. Now, it is essential to survive the daily grind and conquer stress.
It seems that people who get stressed are getting so much younger. I once overheard an intern of this paper saying that she was very stressed coming from an assignment.
I’m no fitness expert, in fact, although I have managed to maintain my 34-inch waistline it has been a struggle to do so.
I never had any regular physical activity unlike my friends who run a few kilometers on a very regular basis and those who head to the gym several times a week to make sure the flab stays away from their well-sculpted figures.
One thing that I have learned though is that when you are fit, life is more enjoyable as there are more things that you can do including being able to touch your toes. I bet you are trying to do so now, but don’t cheat, do it while standing up and not while seated hehehe…
If you’re fit, clothes seem to look better on you also and you don’t have to keep on buying one size bigger every time there is a sale.
A healthy lifestyle surely can make lives so much better and help us perform better at work. Yes, even if you don’t like your job, remember you have to do it, or you won’t have anything to look forward to every middle and end of the month.
A friend of mine always reminds me that one should not scrimp when taking care of our body, it’s the only one we have.
Stay fit so you get to live a better life.

To those who think they can’t do it, here is the story of a man, who battled big odds.
This is from the Amazing But True Golf Facts.
It says that Australian Jack Newton, who finished as runner-up to Tom Watson in the 1975 British Open was considered as a hero in his country – the Land Down Under.
In 1983, when his career was at its height, Newton met an accident when he stumbled into an airplane propeller and lost his right arm and eye in the mishap that also almost cost him his life.
He did not stop, when he recovered from the injuries he resumed playing golf, this time one handed and became an announcer. He even set up a foundation to promote the game.
Here is something that he said, which we should learn from. “I think the important thing is, if you get a bad break like I did, you’ve got to get up off the mat and have a go.”

Milestones: Belated birthday greetings to one of my dearest friends for many years now, Annalee Duran-Flores, who turned a year older yesterday. The same goes to my classmates Dennis Pastor and Redempta Enriquez and to my fellow Cebu Squad member Ann Andres Arribas.
Today’s greetings go to Jonathan ‘Maxi’ Maximo and Dexter Bongo.
More power to all of you!
