Green bags Triple A cage crown

CEBU, Philippines – Team Green defeated Violet, 52-48, to seize the championship of the Allied Athletics Association (Triple A) 2009 Inter-Color summer basketball tournament at the Kimwa gym in Mandaue City.

Green held the lead for most of the way, but not without a challenge as Violet kept on coming back with ex-pro Larry Villanil providing the leadership.

Rey Gonzaga paced Green with 17 points, while Nelson Gacasan added 10 points.

Earlier, the Blue squad smothered White, 79-74, to settle for third place honors.

Jeriel Bukiron and Adrian Gogo topped Blue with 27 points combined.

Jun Arceo nailed 16 markers for White followed by Jun Locaylocay and Kidong Lisondra with 15 points apiece. – GGM (THE FREEMAN)
