CEBU, Philippines - Judgment day beckons as Cebu City makes its attempt to break the biggest dance class in the Guinness World Book of Records this afternoon at the Cebu City Sports Center .
The current record for the said category is being held by Budapest, Hungary with 2, 289.
In its bid to shatter the mark, the Queen City of the South is counting on 8,000 youngsters from different schools mostly from public schools as well as from barangay dancesport teams to show up and participate in the landmark activity.
The participants had less than a month of preparations for this M.Lhuillier Kwarta Padala and DepEd Cebu City-supported undertaking organized by Dancesport-Team Cebu City.They will be performing the Sugbo dance, chachacha, mambo and jive covering a total of 10 minutes.
By gathering as many participants as possible, the figure cannot be broken easily as anticipated by the organizers led by Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) dancesport director Edward Hayco. – THE FREEMAN
