CEBU, Philippines – On the eve of their attempt to set the biggest dance class in the Guinness World Book of Records, Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) dancesport director Edward Hayco thanked in advance all those who have, in any way, supported them in their worthwhile undertaking.
Judgement day is set at 3pm tomorrow at the Cebu City Sports Center.
“The support is very overwhelming so I’d like to thank all the heart-kinded individuals and companies who are supporting the event. Fom small things to big amount, our deepest gratitude to them,” said Hayco.
M.Lhuillier Kwarta Padala is providing event t-shirts for all the participants plus the number tags, while French Baker and Julie’s Bakeshop will be giving away snacks.
“I also take my hats off to the volunteer teachers who are teaching the kids 12 hours a day for free and also to DepEd, the principals and the teachers who went out of their way to support this event,” Hayco added.
Everything is already in place with around 8,000 youngsters coming from different schools and barangays in the Queen City of the South joining the attempt to break Hungary ’s record on the biggest dance class of 2,289 last month.
Security measures as well as medical assistance have also been readied.
Hayco said it will only take 10 minutes for the actual presentation wherein the participants will perform the Sugbo dance, jive, mambo and chachacha.
In anticipation of an inclement weather, Hayco said the show will go on, rain or shine. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
