CEBU, Philippines - Exciting Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action unfolds tonight with four URCC Visayas belts at stake in the Colt 45 Universal Reality Combat Championship Cebu IV: Proving Grounds at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC).
Cebu’s top prospect Engi “The Destroyer” Piloto of Yaw-Yan Cebu Ardigma guns for the URCC Visayas featherweight crown when he lock horns with 2007 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games wushu gold medallist Mark Ediva of Baguio’s Lakay Wushu, which boasts of four URCC title-holders under its fold.
“I will defeat him (Ediva) to the best of my ability. It’s either in a stand-up fight or via ground and pound,” said Piloto, who is trained by Yaw-Yan Cebu Ardigma founder Master Benigno “Ekin” R. Caniga, Jr.
In the supporting main event, Canadian Sabah “The Persian Warrior” Fadai will test the mettle of the undefeated Andrew Benibe of Manila‘s Maics Gym.
Stand-up fighter Leo “The Sandman” Gaerlan of Cebu’s Yaw Yan Musang, on the other hand, will clash with Muay Thai champion Leonard “The One” Delarmino of Iloilo’s Capanay MMA Stable for the URCC Visayas bantamweight plum.
The rest of the two championship bouts pit Maxilito “The Hyper Eagle” Yung of Yaw-Yan Musang against Alvin “The Heat” Amistoso of Mifis Tudo Judo for the URCC Visayas flyweight diadem and Cebu’s Demetrio “The Standard” Delatore of CMAC Main opposite Philip “The Stinger” Delarmio of Capanay MMA Stable for the URCC Visayas pinweight laurels.
United Kingdom’s Tom “The Hawk” Woodfin will banner Cebu’s colors when he takes on submission specialist Richie Redman of Capanay MMA Stable in the lightweight division, Jimmy “The Silencer” Yabo of Cebu’s Sel Def seeks to knockout Albert “The Boss” Sumido in their featherweight duel, while Jonomar “Naruto” Macaraya of CMAC Main figures in a flyweight battle against Agustin “The Demolisher” Delarmino. – Marigold P.
