Young Builders face Shell in CECABA Division I finals

CEBU, Philippines – Young Builders ’91 scored its second straight lopsided victory at the expense of Dewfoam ’88, 82-62, to advance into the Division I finals of the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 11th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Armed with a three-game sweep in the semifinal round, Class ’91 is expected to ride on the crest of high-morale when it goes up against early victim Shell ’78/85 in the Division I championship at 7:30 tonight still at the same venue.

In the main game at 9 pm, RJX Transport Solutions ’99 will clash with GCM Merchandise ’98-B for the Division II title.

Tommy Yu scattered 21 points even as three others cashed in double figures for Class ’91, which left Class ’88 groping for form the rest of the way after opening the game with a deadly 22-blast. Emerson Go backed up with 13 points followed by Chester Benedict Go and Juan Borromeo, Jr. with 23 points combined.
