Orillaville survives Rollyr Boyz in FYA caging

CEBU, Philippines - Ryan Villaver scored 31 points and Jay Perez added 30 as the Orillaville pulled off a 96-95 squeaker over Rollyr Boyz in the F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) 1st Vice Mayor Mike Rama Cup basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

Perez hit the winning shot via a barrellling drive in the final 12 seconds of the contest. Thus, Orillaville joined its victim on top of the leaderboard with similar 6-2 win-loss records.

Orillaville and Rollyr Boyz owned by Punta Princesa Brgy. Capt. Rolly Diorico are now assured of a berth into the semifinals that will begin on June 21. 

Ex-UC Junior Webmaster Daniel Enriquez led the Rollyr Boyz with 18 points, while Eking Marata and Chissar Llegunas finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

 In the other game, former USJ-R Jaguar Baeng Medalle scored a league record of 43 points spiked with five triples to power the Viking Haulers to a 115-111 upset over the Kuya Allan squad.

Kuya Allan, however, still led the Light bracket with a 5-3 win-loss card. The Haulers improved to 3-5.

Toper Limbaga paced the Haulers with 34 points followed by Giovanni Canceko with 17 markers.

Ranel Patalita amassed 33 points for Kuya Allan, while Medalle's older brother Noel chipped in 25 points in a losing cause.
