'New' SM bowling center opens

-

CEBU, Philippines – The SM Bowling Center finally got a needed facelift after two decades. The long wait was worth it. The refurbished facility now boasts of 28 lanes complete with digital scoring system plus 6 billiard tables. The amenities include seats that are more comfortable, disco lights and crispier sound system.

“SM Bowling Center is changing the face, look and feel of bowling in the country today. Gone are the stodgy fiberglass gang seats and antiseptic interiors. In its place, you find cozy but luxuriously cushioned lounge seating that one usually finds in hip and urban music club,” said Engr. Ric Camaligan, SM vice-president for Leisure.

Camaligan, together Gilbert Gavino, general manager of Puyat Sports, Carlo Fortuna, vice-mayor of Mandaue City and vice-mayor Mic-Mic Miranda of Medellin, presided over the re-launching program for the facility.

Camaligan also recognized the exploits of a young Cebuano bowler Jomar Jamapao during the program.

Jumapao recently competed in the Asian Schools Tenpin Bowling Championship in Hong Kong where he won gold in the Boys’ Singles, the only gold medal the Philippines won in the week-long tournament. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
