Adlawan rules 10th leg of 3rd MS Motosuit motocross series
CEBU, Philippines - After missing in action last week, Jon-Jon Adlawan immediately plunged back into the winning track as he ruled the 10th leg of the Castrol-backed 3rd MS Motosuit Motocross Series dubbed as the “1st Mayor Celestino “Junnie” E. Martinez, Jr. Motocross Cup” the other day in Bogo.
Adlawan failed to barge into the top three during the San Remigio race that was shortened because of the uncontrollable crowd and then missed the Dipolog staging due to some pressing matters.
In his return, however, the MS Motosuit image model swiftly made an impact by outsmarting former tormentor Jubenile Abellar of PowerSports Racing to clinch the premier expert open crown. Paolo Inoc claimed the third place honors.
Abellar though made up from his loss to Adlawan by snatching the intermediate title over Weng Yapparcon, formerly one of the country’s top riders. Weng’s brother Ambo Abellar settled for this.
On the other hand, Ryan Querol posted a double victory via the novice open production
and the local enduro categories. He edged out John Flores for the top post in the novice open and outlasted Seigfred Ornopia for the beginners open production crown.
The reigning “Rider of the Year” Ornopia though still has something to show off as he lorded it over in executive A in convincing fashion. He finished ahead by a mile over Jun Enriquez, while Gener Sicad wound up third.
Sicad did not go home empty-handed as he topped the executive B followed by Enriquez and Nonoy Reluya.
Little-known Joselito Enage grabbed the executive C plum over Felipe Montejo and Titing Sicad.
Donkey Sanchez won the open enduro class over archrival Bonnie Bustillo as Ayen Ledesma landed third.
Another Querol, Ray, won the local enduro contest, with Judson Sanico and Sanchez placing second and third, respectively.
The peewee 7-under class saw BJ Pepito emerging as the fastest followed by Marrianne Yapparcon. Brothers Ken and Keizer Ornopia occupied the next two sports.
Tom-Tom Largoza prevented Pepito from claiming a double championship by reigning supreme in the mini class division, while Brylle Ornopia could only make it to third place this time.
Tomorrow, action shifts to Liloan with the holding of the 11th leg billed as the “1st Mayor Duke Frasco Motocross Cup”. —Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
