GCM, MFL Mini-Mart Demolish opponents in CECABA

CEBU, Philippines - GCM Merchandise '98-B and MFL Mini-Mart '98-A demolished separate foes in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association's 11th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup Friday night at the CEC gym.

Class '98-A shackled First ACY Shipping 2006, 94-79, while Class '98-B blasted JRJ Enterprises 2007, 57-31. Interestingly, Class '98-A and '98-B now hold an identical 7-8 win-loss records.

Rex Millan fired a season-high 34 points on top of six rebounds, while Erick Andrew So banged in 23 points, two rebounds and two assists for Class '98-A, which battered Class 2006 at will since starting the game with a 24-12 bang.

By the end of the third period, Class '98-A was already ahead by a mile, 67-50.

Junwynn Dy unloaded a season-best 31 points, while Ralph Victor Yad added 20 points for Class 2006, which slipped to 3-11.

In the other game, Class '98-B got even feircer after a strong opening statement, 12-4. The GCM Merchandise squad outscored Class 2007 in the next two quarters, 31- 19, and then closed the game with a 14-8 run for the 26-point blowout.

Leovigildo Yup paced Class '98-B with 18 points, two rebounds and two assists followed by Robinson Yap with 17 markers and 13 rebounds. Elvis Evangelista chipped in 14 points and three rebounds.

Raymark Ryan was the lone double-digit scorer with 11 as Class 2007 slumped to 6-9.
