CEBU, Philippines – Jon-Jon Adlawan sustained his blazing performance on the racetrack to rule the 2nd Mayor Erwin Aguspino Motocross Cup, which served as the seventh leg of the 2009 MS Motosuit Motocross Series in Ayungon, Negros Oriental the other day.
Adlawan, an MS Motosuit image model, took advantage of the absence of Glenn Aguilar to clinch the expert crown in this Castrol Philippines-presented race. He edged out Ambo Yapparcon as Irwin Uypitching settled for third.
Yapparcon, however, did not go homewithout a title as he lorded it over in the intermediate class at the expense of his older brother Weng. Jubenile Abellar took the second runner-up honors.
John Flores, another official MS Motosuit endorser, also made his presence felt by topping the novice open production, while Ryan Querol and Donkey Sanchez wound up second and third.
Sanchez, however, has more than enough to be proud of as he emerged the fastest in two other classes - the beginners open production and open enduro.
Bonnie Bustillo though prevented Sanchez from claiming a third title by overpowering the latter in the local enduro race.
Reigning “Rider of the Year” Seigfred Ornopia of Keiz BJ Racing Team and his sons stole part of the limelight by reigning supreme in their respective categories.
Seigfred was unstoppable anew in the executive A. He was trailed by Gener Sicad as Jun Enriquez landed third.
Seigfred’s eldest son, Brylle, seized the mini class title after defeating Weng Yapparcon’s daughter Marriane, while his two other kids Ken and Keizer posted a one-two finish in the peewee class.
Enriquez snatched the executive B crown after outclassing Gener Sicad and Adonis Famador who occupied the next two spots.
Butch Flores, for his part, came up with a double victory via the all-Negros enduro race and the executive C. He bested King Solomon Canoy and Baddok Lopez. –THE FREEMAN
