Ting scores 30 as Class '95 wallops Shell '78/85
CEBU, Philippines – Flashy guard Donald Anthony Ting tossed in 17 of his game-high 30 points as Centenniel Hardware ’95 upended Shell ’78/85, 88-77, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 11th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Ting, who shot 10-of-16 from the field including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, also dished out seven assists and had four rebounds. His early 13-point explosion helped Class ’95 post a 44-34 advantage at halftime, a lead they never relinquished until the final buzzer.
Erwin Ong backed up Ting with 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists followed by Dean Dy Teves backed up Ting with 12 points and nine rebounds. Archie Gue also submitted a dozen markers as Class ’95 tallied its 13th victory in 15 games.
Chester Cokaliong buried eight triples of his 30 points for Class’78/85. Edvin Kaw came up with 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals, Wilson Yu had 12 points and five rebounds, while Joel Chan finished with 10 points, 14 assists and eight rebounds but their collective effort went for naught as they absorbed their second loss in 13 starts.
In the other game, RJX Transport Solutions ’99 stormed to a 59-50 win over Dewfoam ’88.
Mark Eugene Bukiron topped Class ’99 with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and two steals, while Albert Uy and Ruben Yap, Jr. chipped in 13 and 11 markers, respectively.
Rey Kenneth Ng netted 13 points and six rebounds, while Gregorio Aguilar handed over 11 points and seven rebounds for Class ’88.
