Roble Shipping forges KO match vs. Unilink
CEBU, Philippines – Roble Shipping of George Uy lashed back at Unilink Shipping, 99-77, to forge a rubbermatch in their best-of-three finals series in the Sunrisers/Powerball Friendship Cup basketball tournament at the CEC gym.
From a slow start, the Roble Shipping later took a 15-point lead, 51-36, behind the offensive firepower of pointguard Teyoy Lim and forward Ruel Sestoso, who finished with 25 and 20 points, respectively. Defense also keyed the crucial victory anchored on John Carpio and Gary Maquelan.
Roble Shipping further padded its lead to 20 points, 70-50, going into the final period. They were never threatened from thereon.
Charlie Abellon, Jessie Gabatan, Carpio and Maquelan chipped in 3 points combined for Roble Shipping.
Louie Navarro topscored for Unilink with 21 points, while Panis Gerali added 18 points.
