Jayra, Orillaville log wins in FYA caging
CEBU, Philippines – Teams Jayra and Orillaville moved to second place in the leaderboard after scoring contrasting victories in the F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) 1st Vice Mayor Mike Rama Cup last Sunday at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.
Jayra defeated Aqua Serv Mineral Water, 101-91, while Orillaville bulldozed the Kuya Allan chargers of team owner Allan Guibelondo, 113-101, to forge a three-way tie among them and Aqua Serv with similar 2-1 win-loss records.
Viking Rollon paced Jayra with 35 points, spoiling the 40-point show of Tito Bacarisas for Aqua Serv. Clark del Mar added 22 points and Bern Ylanan had 12 points for Jayra.
In the other game, Kikoy Maucesa amassed 26 for Orillaville.
Ranel Patalita had 39 points followed by Eman Reubal with 21 points and Noel Medalle with 11 for Kuya Allan, which fell to 1-2.
The FYA caging is backed up by Punta Princesa Brgy. Capt. Rolly Diorico, barangay councilor Ray Gabriel Salgado, and tournament director Boy Atillo.
