Slated on April 30 to May 3, young athletes will compete in unique disciplines namely beach football, beach volleyball, beach athletics, shoreline swimming, freesbie, beach sepak takraw and rapid chess.

The inaugural event features three age brackets: 13-14, 11-12 and the 10-under class expect for swimming that will also have the 8-under class. Individual awards will be given out in each bracket while the overall champion will be determined by points.

Growee has taken out beach basketball from the list of games despite the company’s noted association with such popular sport. “We have chosen other sports that could be incorporated with our products,” explained Sherwin Arceo, Growee’s brand manager, during yesterday’s launching of the Pinoy Beach Games at Moon Cafe’ at the Terraces in Ayala Center.

Unilab, the makers of Growee, along with the organizing Evangelista Aquatics and Sports Management Incorporated declared that holding the event is a big help in promoting beach games to Filipino youngsters.
