Roble Shipping now 5-0 in Sunriser hoop

CEBU, Philippines - Roble Shipping of team manager George Uy blasted the listless Vic Enterprises, 122-110, to extend its winning streak to five in the Sunriser/Powerball Friendship Cup 2009 at the CEC gym.

Roble Shipping staged a daring breakaway in the second period to shatter a 24-all deadlock and close the first half with an eight-point advantage, 58-50, behind the one-two punch of top center John Carpio and triggerman Jingjing Rama.

With big man Jessie Gabatan joining the fray, Roble Shipping padded its lead to a double-digit entering the final canto, 82-72.

Rama had a breakout game scoring 32 points, while Gabatan enjoyed his finest game in the league with 20 points. Charlie Abellon donated 18 points followed by Carpio with 16. Teyoy Lim, Sammy Sia and Tirso Aberia had 32 points combined for Roble Shipping.

Boy Maranga paced Vic Enterprises with a tournament-high 43 points.

Earlier, the Cromwel Kwan-led Unilink Shipping demolished Powerball, 111-84, to stay at second place in the standings with an improved 4-1 win-loss record.

Alwin Tabasa topscored for Unilink with 27 points, while skipper Paul Quiñanola tossed in 20 markers including five triples.

Powerball was led by Lando Luces with 20 points.
