Calinawan wins anew in Pipti-Pipti triathlon
CEBU, Philippines - Gerrie Calinawan succeeded in posting back-to-back victories as he ruled the fourth leg of the Pipti-Pipti Triathlon in Danao City.
Calinawan won the top spot in the men’s open, while Elmo Clarabal finished second, while the comebacking Noy Jopson placed third.
RJ Balbuena, on the other hand, reigned supreme in the senior 20 class after edging out Ralph Arche and Rico Valentin, who wound up second and third, respectively.
Eugene Sanchez, for his part, lorded it over in the senior 30 category followed by Warren Troy Vergara and Noel Reyes.
Ramon Lim emerged the best in the masters division, while Ralph Sios-e was the fastest among the triathletes who used mountainbikes. Jun Omero topped the “aided” class.
Nino Surban dominated the second duathlon battle, with Janzel Jamez and Jude Rivera placing second and third. Janice Bautista was unopposed in the distaff side.
