Don Bosco U-10 booters to take part in Del Monte Cup
CEBU, Philippines – The Don Bosco booters are raring to go for the title in the 2009 Del Monte Football Cup on April 3-4 at the Del Monte Camp Philips fields in Bukidnon.
After landing in the first runner-up slot last year against the towering Davaoeños, the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) squad is hoping that this would be their year to claim the Under-10 category championship.
“We have greater chances in claiming a championship title this year, because we were able to win the Aboitiz Cup and aside from that, the kids had excelled in the local tournaments that they’ve participated,” said DBTC coach Glenn Ramos.
“We have prepared everything in a span of one year for this event in order to challenge the rest of the teams in Bukidnon. Hopefully we could get this year’s title,” Ramos added.
The team will leave for Bukidnon tomorrow.
The Under-10 players are Joseph Kei Ceniza, Thomas Glen Ramos, John
Clyde Vitualla, Agustin Rafael Roa, Andre Leonardo Roa, Erich Rafael Orale, Carlos Miguel Orale, Jose Antonio Salazar, Mark Oniel Unabia, Miguel Mercader, Jon Joseph Reña, Justin Genson, Joshua Genson, Dennis Cabilin, Fritz Shan Rabaya, Johnreyx Ramirez, Troy Justin Torillo and Moiselle Angelo Alforque.
In the distaff side, the Carshenians Team will be strutting its wares in the Girls 17 category.
This lady team is composed of Marie Ku Maureen Ceniza, Thara Glyn Ramos, Anna Maria Roa, Maique Villegas, Hanna Pinote, Rovelyn Leah Ramirez, Denielle Otadoy and Hannah Sophie Cagwin.
The same teams will also be joining the Victoria Cup in Baguio City on April 29 to May 6, with the inclusion of DBTC teams in Under 14, Under 17 and Girls 17.
The teams would like to extend their gratitude to DBTC Rector Rev. Fr. Ronald G. Guiao SDB and DBTC Principal, Rev. Fr. Jerome Constantino, who approved their participation in the sporting events.
