CEBU, Philippines – Former world judo champions Shinro Fujita and Yasuhito Okada will conduct a Kodokan Judo Seminar on March 23 and 24 at the University of Cebu (UC) AVR 1.
Fujita, a 7th dan Kodokan black belt, is the manager for internal affairs of the Kodokan Judo Institute. Okada, a 6th dan Kodokan black belt, is a judo instructor in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Force.
During the seminar, the two masters will share latest coaching updates and will demonstrate the Taiho Jutsu technique. This is the technique employed by Japanese police in subduing and arresting violent criminals.
Fujita and Okada will also conduct a Kodokan black belt promotion examination. A Kodokan belting examination is the most difficult judo belting examination and, accordingly, the most prestigious in the world of judo.
