Hapee online cage clinic to offer specialized training to campers
CEBU, Philippines - The annual Hapee Online Basketball Camp will start on April 1 at the Cogon-Ramos gym with at least 100 participants expected to join.
Camp director and former PBA cager Mark Anthony Tallo said every participant is assessed with P1,100 registration fee inclusive of a basketball and upper jersey.
Tallo said the Hapee Online cage clinic is into specialized training. It is not so commercialized that is precisely the reason why it is drawing a lot of entries every year. “ Mao ra nay among bentaha kay dili ni negosyo kung dili tabang gyud aron makakat-on ang mga bata,” said Tallo.
Tallo and Hapee-Cebu owner Jack Huang joined local sportscribes in a luncheon meeting yesterday at Casa Verde. Huang personally thanked Tallo for producing good players that Hapee Online can really call its own.
Huang singled out the 15-year old Mark Jayven Tallo, who was named MVP in the Junior NBA Finals last Febraury 27 in Manila. He was also named to the CESAFI Mythical Five in the juniors division while playing for the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) Wildkittens where he is the leading scorer.
Out of the 39 players who made it into the training pool of the Junior NBA, Tallo’s son Jayven instantly rose to prominence. Another Cebunao Gaber Araw-araw was among those included in the pool.
A trip to the United States awaits Tallo and his teammates on April 10 as they are promised to be brought to New york and New Jersey plus a chance to witness a live NBA match. – GGM (THE FREEMAN)
