Run
I really am surprised at the fact that so many people, including those who don’t even run regularly, are now so keen in holding running events.
It’s actually a very pleasant surprise and I hope that more people would really pursue their plans so we can have more events and most importantly more interest in physical fitness.
Last week, at least two people discussed with me plans to hold running events, but I won’t divulge any more details yet until they finalize their plans.
Even the non-runners are keen on buying a pair of rubber shoes and donning the shorts and singlet to pound the roads for a 3K or maybe a 5K run.
Although I haven’t been on the road to run for many years now due to injuries that prevent me from doing so, my interest in running has always been there cultivated by those early mornings I spent trying to build my stamina on the roads of my hometown.
I often took the back roads which had lesser traffic and afforded me the chance to do some cross-country kind of running. I really miss those days.
Running is a very inexpensive form of exercise that can be done with family and friends and no special equipment are needed except probably a good pair of running shoes.
If you are a regular at the mall like this deadline beater, you probably see a lot of running shoes on sale regularly and you can even come by some pairs for a little over P1,000.
If you plan to take up running like many of my friends, who have lost a lot of weight, you better see your doctor first before attempting anything.
If you are keen on doing it regularly, it is always best to do it with friends or family to make it a fun activity.
The same goes if you want to get into a sport also.

With most schools already on vacation, here are some options that parents might want to check out for their children:
-Martial arts training in the different schools around Cebu and for different disciplines.
-Basketball clinics by different coaches and organizations, but pick the ones that are being run professionally.
-Soccer clinics by the various schools.
-Baseball clinic at Fastball Batting Cages.
-Dancesport training in the barangays.
-And many other sports clinics in the different membership clubs and even local governments.
Make the school break productive for your children. Get them into sports.
