Mambaling sizzles in dance contest

CEBU, Philippines - After a short break, the Go Ching Hai-Martina and M.Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Cup Inter-Barangay Dancesport and Hip Hop competition is back with Mambaling dominating the 16th leg over the weekend in Brgy. Quiot, this city.

Mambaling hauled two golds, three silvers and three bronzes.

Mambaling’s triumph was powered by Orven Miro and Jhezeel Mae Estenor through the standard open and John Rey Jabonero and Giselle Columba in the latin open. Both dance couples competed under the youth division.

Lahug finished second in the open division with two golds courtesy of Robert Alinabon and Joanna Mae Casibo in the junior division of the two dance disciplines.

Tejero got the third place with a gold and a silver, while Guadalupe ended with a gold. Buhisan occupied the fifth spot with a silver and a bronze.

In the closed bronze contest, juveniles Nelson Sanchez and Carmel Gonzales ruled both the modern standard and latin action.

In the hip-hop event, the Type 1 dance group reigned over Excel, while the third spot of this Dancesport-Team Cebu City-organized event went to Playboiz. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (THE FREEMAN)
