Builders reach Buanoy cage semifinal

CEBU, Philippines - The Construction Services Department (CSD) Builders breezed past the Mandaue Cyclone, 105-96, to advance into the semifinals of the Buanoy Open basketball tournament in Balamban.

After losing an 84-60 lead in the third quarter, the Builders kept their heads above water and warded off what could have been a monumental endgame collapse.

Jerry Jaca led all CSD scorers with 18 points, while Aldrin Ocañada added 16 points even as three others also finished in double figures.

Two Cyclone players scored at least 20 markers but got no ample support from the rest of their teammates.

The Builders, who tote a 2-1 win-loss record, will face next Ave Maria/USJ-R Jaguars Team A for a championship berth.
